Cancellation Announcement

Dear AnimeNEXT Family,

We would like to thank everyone in the AnimeNEXT community for their patience during these times. AnimeNEXT has been closely monitoring the situation in our region and assessing the impact it would have on our convention and the safety of our staff and fans. We have been working closely with the Atlantic City Convention Center, local hotels, and our internal teams to fully understand the impact of recent events. 

After reviewing developments and the impact upon our host city, the Board of Directors of Universal Animation, Inc., the not-for-profit corporation that owns and operates AnimeNEXT, has decided to cancel AnimeNEXT 2020. This was not an easy decision as we take great pride in providing our community with a fun and innovative convention After reviewing all of the options available and due to the paramount concerns for  the health and safety of everyone involved in the convention cancellation was the most prudent course of action available.

The next AnimeNEXT convention will be held from Friday, June 11, 2021 through Sunday, June 13, 2021 at the Atlantic City Convention Center.

There are a lot of components that go into successfully running an event like AnimeNEXT, and as things changed around us during these uncertain times many of these components were impeded, impacted, or stopped. 

While this course of action is not ideal for anyone, we feel it is appropriate given all the circumstances impacting our staff, attendees, vendors, and so forth. We offer our heartfelt thanks to our volunteers for the countless hours they poured into planning for this year’s show, all of our various vendors, partners, artists, dealers, and panelists for agreeing to help us improve our content and our wonderful attendees and fans for their continued support over the past several weeks. We would also like to acknowledge the teams from the Atlantic City Convention Center, and the local area hotels for their wonderful and continued service to our staff and attendees.

This pandemic has impacted all of us in various ways, and we hope that through it all everyone remains safe and continues to foster the openness, compassion, and friendship that makes the anime community so great.

AnimeNEXT Membership Deferral Process

Deferral Package

All AnimeNEXT 2020 memberships will by default be deferred to 2021. Additionally, any VIP memberships and amenities will be deferred to 2021 as well. 

Any regular memberships purchased after December 31st, 2019 costing more than $60.00 will receive a coupon to our merchandise shop for the difference.

    • Coupon for $5.00
  • Membership Purchased at $70.00
    • Coupon for $10.00

Refund Package

Any person(s) who purchased AnimeNEXT memberships can receive a full refund by filling out the following form. If you receive a refund of your Membership you must re-register for AnimeNEXT 2021. All requests for refunds must be submitted no later than 4/29/2020, 30 days from now. All refunds will be refunded via the same method of purchase. Refunds will be processed within 7 days after the refund application has closed. Please allow between 7 and 10 days for this refund to be credited to your account, plus any additional time required by your financial institution(s).

Dealers & Artists

All Artists and Dealers who have been accepted to AnimeNEXT 2020 and have made payments on their invoice will be issued a 100% refund. AnimeNEXT will start issuing refunds on 04/20/2020. All refunds will be processed within 10 business days. Credit Card payments will be refunded via credit card. Cash and check payments will be refunded via check. Checks will be mailed to the business address on file. Please allow between 7 and 10 days for this refund to be credited to your account, plus any additional time required by your financial institution(s). No payments, acceptances, or agreements for AnimeNEXT 2020 will roll over into AnimeNEXT 2021. All Artists & Dealers are welcome to reapply for AnimeNEXT 2021 when the applications open. 

Panelists

Panelists in the acceptance process for AnimeNEXT 2020 will be contacted privately as we discuss further details for your content during AnimeNEXT 2021.

Partners & Sponsors

AnimeNEXT is reaching out to our Partners & Sponsors with intentions of rolling over all current agreements into 2021 as well as reallocating some of our current energy to further our Partnerships within the Industry. We will also be making announcements about awesome new and upcoming content on our Social Media channels in 2021.
