AnimeNext 2004 Memories

Wow, what a year! 2004 (June 18-20, NY/NJ/CT) broke AnimeNEXT attendance records as we saw our attendance more than double in just 8 short months. Things got a little crowded, but we managed to get through it all alive. Our Guests proved enormously popular, as did our Musical Acts. We had more Dealers in our Exhibit hall than ever before, expanded our events and programming, and increased our staff by 60%. And it still wasn't enough!

Once again, we've put together a page to commemorate the convention. We hope that you'll look back on AnimeNEXT 2004 with fond memories. Take some time to remember all the great Cosplay costumes, incredible Anime Music Videos, and cool new things you were exposed to. And don't forget about all the people you met and talked to at the event. Ultimately, the convention is all about getting together with people of like mind and just having a good time. We hope we accomplished this.

Due to the short planning timeframe between our 2003 and 2004 events, and the overwhelming attendance, this year was a tough one for the staffers of AnimeNEXT. We are looking forward to overcoming these challenges and improving our event for next year. We encourage those of you who would like to help to consider joining our staff. Our non-profit event is run entirely through the dedicated efforts of un-paid volunteers. Things didn't run as smoothly as they could have, but it is our belief that given a full 12 months to plan for next year, we'll be able to both correct our past mistakes and improve greatly on our successes. We hope that you'll join us as we help take AnimeNEXT through its next evolution...
